Born on October 7, 1943, in Colquitt Co., Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Marion Fletcher and Minerva Pope Fletcher. Mrs. Summerlin was a devoted and faithful member of Christian Life Center in Moultrie, where she dearly loved her church and her church family. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving the Lord alongside those she loved.
For many years, Gladys worked as a seamstress, first with Warners and later with Riverside Manufacturing Co. She took pride in her work and was known for her dedication, skill, and strong work ethic throughout her career.
Outside of work, Gladys enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved baking, often sharing her homemade treats with family and friends, and found peace in fishing, a pastime that brought her relaxation and joy.
Above all, Mrs. Summerlin deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Spending time with her family was one of the most important parts of her life, and she treasured every moment shared with them. Her love, kindness, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Arlie J. Summerlin; her sister, Ruth Smith; and her daughter-in-law, Pam Summerlin.
