George Allen Elliott

George Allen Elliott, 76, of Doerun, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Julian Griner and Rev. Ron Shiver officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Born on July 16, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Cecil Mervin Elliott and Earline Baker Elliott. George was a man of resilience and integrity. He bravely served his country as part of the USS Forrestal during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers and his nation. George's dedication and sacrifice will always be remembered and appreciated. His presence in the Doerun Masonic Lodge #151 brought camaraderie and friendship to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Mr. Elliott's career as a truck driver allowed him to fulfill his passion for traveling, taking him on journeys across the country. His adventurous spirit and warm personality endeared him to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his loving wife, Donna Edge Elliott of Doerun; sons, Brian Elliott and wife Jenny of Moultrie, Michael Elliott of Waycross, Austin Elliott of Doerun, and Jacob Clark and wife Robyn of Sale City; daughter, Kelly Young and husband Michael of Sale City; grandchildren, Anna Beth Sellers and husband Daniel of Nashville, Tennessee, Allison Bell and husband Harrison, Reagan Young, Trent Young, Brady Clark, and Levi Clark all of Sale City; brother, Cecil "Sonny" Elliott and wife Pam of Hephzibah, Georgia; and special cousin, Art Jackson and wife Anita of Raleigh, North Carolina.
