Esther Weeks Vick Lively, 91, of Moultrie died Sunday, February 8, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service honoring her life and legacy will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2026, at First Methodist Church, Moultrie, with the Reverend Tony Crosby and Hannah Bass officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
A private graveside inurnment at Westview Cemetery will follow at a later date. Members of her bridge club and birthday club will be honorary attendees.
A lifelong resident of Colquitt County, Esther was born and raised in the Cool Springs area. She was the daughter of the late Robert Clark Weeks and Esther “Essie” Lucy Fussell Weeks. She was a school favorite, lettering in basketball at Norman Park High School. She attended Moultrie Technical School. She worked in the billing department of Colquitt Rural Electric Association and later in the accounting and sales department of Belk Department Store. She retired as a paraprofessional from Sunset Elementary School, having formerly transported students as a bus driver. A long-time member of First Methodist Church, Moultrie, she formerly served as financial secretary. She loved worshiping the Lord along with fellowship in Sunday School and traveling with the “Pacesetter” group. Time spent with family and congenial competition playing bridge gave her joy. She was a member of the YMCA and competed in state volleyball tournaments. She participated in the Moultrie Junior Women's Club, Moultrie Federated Guild, the John Benning Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Colquitt County Retired Teachers Association.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Leroy Vick and Paul Lively. A stepson, David Paul Lively. She was the last surviving sibling of her family.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Vick (Jacquelyn) of Greenville, SC, Steve Vick (Marsha) of Moultrie, GA, and a daughter, Judy Whitehead (Cliff) of Hoschton, GA.; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Lawrence Vick (Sarah), Charles Taylor Vick (Rachel), Marianna Diecy Vick, Jessica Clemons (Naomi), Steven Stone (Jacob), Jamie Marie Bennett (Michael), Victoria Elise Blount (Terrance), Julianne Esther Whitehead; Seven great-grandchildren, Jackson Dennis Vick, Laura Kathryn Vick, Charles Taylor Vick II, Pearce McCall Vick, Leroy “Rory” Gray Vick, John Dawson Bennett, Sawyer Dean Bennett, Knox Stefan Blount, and Kennedy Kaia Blount; a stepson, Thomas Wayne Lively (Becky), step-daughter Janet Carter (Mickey), step-daughter-in-law, Ann Lively Fazio. Six step grandchildren, Michael Lively (Allison), Ashley Lively McLean (Cord), Jonathan Lively (Alexa), Kelli Lively Shambayati (Daniel), Kristen Carter Daniel (Justin), Russell Carter (Brooke); Fourteen step-great-grandchildren; Nora Daniel, Whit Daniel, Naomi Daniel, Nealy Daniel, Gage Carter, Anaka Carter, Lily Davis, Axeson Bell, Lily Lively, Caitlyn Lively, Maddox McLean, Grayson McLean, Rowan Lively, and Parker Shambayati.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests that memorials be made to First Methodist Church, 409 1st St SE, Moultrie, GA 31768, or to a charity of your choice.
