Emily Jean Hill Woods, 88, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 1661 Harmony Road, Ashburn, Georgia, with Reverend Jerry Copper officiating.
Born on January 21, 1938, in Sycamore, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Judson Hill and Irene Hobby Hill Pate.
Ms. Woods worked for the phone company for several years before dedicating herself to her family as a stay-at-home mother, lovingly raising her daughters. In later years, she served as a paraprofessional at R.B. Wright Elementary School, where she touched the lives of many students. She eventually became a licensed real estate agent.
Music was a cherished part of Ms. Woods’ life. She especially loved church hymns and began singing in the choir at Harmony Baptist Church at an early age. She later continued her love of music at Kingwood Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and joyfully worked with the children’s choir. Ms. Woods loved God’s word, and she was a devoted member of Kingwood Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dean Woods; sister, Diana Gail Hill, and brother-in-law, Doug Collins.
Ms. Woods is survived by her daughters, Jeannie Woods Johnson of Moultrie, and Julie Woods Bare and husband David, of Woodstock, Georgia; grandchildren, Barry A. Johnson, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cameron M. Johnson and wife Sara, and Will Bare, all of Woodstock, Georgia, great-grandchild, Billy Dean Johnson; and sister, Linda Hill Collins of Bainbridge, Georgia.
Arrangements entrusted to Baker Funeral Home and Crematory.
