Edwin Eugene Merritt

Edwin Eugene Merritt, 62, of Hartsfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Cool Springs Cemetery in Doerun with Pastor Tom Rodgers officiating.
Born on August 14, 1961, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Thomas Eugene Merritt and Mary Frances Croft Merritt. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law; Mable Lastinger.
Mr. Merritt is survived by his wife, Ima Jean Buckner Merritt of Hartsfield; son, Adam Merritt and wife Alex of Thomasville; daughters, Jennifer Lyn Vinson and husband Ken of Moultrie, and Jill Meeker and husband Lee of Moultrie; sisters, Gena Best and husband Jeremiah of Moultrie, and Fran Young; grandchildren, Casey Vinson, Steven Vinson, Hanna Jade Vinson, Karli Lawhorn, Ashton Lawhorn, Justin Lawhorn, Parker Lawhorn, Madison Lawhorn, and Grayson Meeker; father in law, Raymond Buckner; nieces, Hayli Spradley, Ashleigh Aldridge and husband Kenny, Misty Davis, Crissy Young; and great niece, Harper Jean Aldridge.
The family will gather at 4235 Thigpen Trail, Hartsfield, GA 31756.
