Edna Gail Beason Young, 76, of Doerun, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Funston Baptist Church with Stacy Beachum officiating. Interment will follow at Doerun City Cemetery. Brian Young, Austin Young, Joshua Young, Carson Young, Trent Young, and Gage Wetherington will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friend one hour prior to service time at the church.
Born on February 21, 1949, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Albert Beason and Lottie Chatham Beason. Ms. Young was a devoted caregiver whose compassion and kindness touched the lives of many. She loved her family deeply, cherishing every moment spent with her children and great-grandchildren. She shared a wonderful marriage of 57 years with her beloved husband, Jimmy, and their love was a shining example of devotion and commitment. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Mickey Spires.
She is survived by her husband James Melvin “Jimmy” Young of Doerun; children, Scott Young and wife Rebecca of Hartsfield, Marla Varnadoe and husband Al of Doerun, and Michael Young and wife Kelly of Sale City; grandchildren, Brian Young and wife Regan, Austin Young and wife Brittany, Joshua Young and wife Halle, Carson Young, Aubrey McDaniel, London McDaniel, Landis McDaniel, Kenzie Ho and husband Mike, Gage Wetherington, Allison Bell and husband Harrison, Reagan Vickers and husband Steven, and Trent Young; great-grandchildren, Addi Young, Asher Young, Ezra Ho, Anna Clark Bell, and Selah Young; and sister, Sharon Hall and husband Donnie of Norman Park.
