Edna Idella Newsome

Edna Idella Newsome, 59, of Moultrie, died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at PruittHealth Magnolia Manor.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Raul Trejo, Alex Trejo, Harold McMurphy, Jot McMurphy, Tony Sifuentes, and Antonio Arreguin will all serve as pallbearers.

Born on June 1, 1964, in Moultrie, Georgia, Edna was the daughter of the late Shirley Ann Curles. She worked for many years at Oxley’s Grocery and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marshall Newsome; and nephew, Michael Newsome.
She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Dionicio Sifuentes Torres of Moultrie: daughters, Jessica Gil and husband Victor, Nancy Newsome Najera and husband Jose, and Kimberly Newsome and fiancé Jared, all of Moultrie; Grandchildren, Raul Trejo, Alex Trejo, Karli Trejo, Aiden Trejo, Anayeli Newsome Ortiz, Jaime Najera, Javier Najera, Julian Najera, Nadilie Newsome Garza, and Jase Bledsoe; great-granddaughters, Nadia Trejo and Arabell Brumbley; brother, George Griffin of Moultrie; sisters, Becky Wilder and Sheila Wilder and Debbie McMurphy and husband Harold, all of Moultrie; sister-in-law, Tamie Newsome of Moultrie; and niece, Brandie Newsome of Moultrie.
The family will be gathering at her home.
