Dorothy Higgs Ross

Dorothy Higgs Ross, 95, of Norman Park died Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles, Rev. Jody Jordan and Rev Mike Baer officiating. Interment will follow at Southside Church Cemetery in Norman Park. John P. Lindsey, Daryle Greene, John Holmes, Reed Dekle, Charles Story, Robert Smith, and Will Stephens will all serve as pallbearers.

Born on April 8, 1925 in Cook Co., Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Roy Higgs and Lucy Sumner Higgs. Mrs. Ross was a homemaker and was a Charter member of Southside Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O.P. “PeeWee” Ross; brother, Murray Higgs, Willard Higgs, and Kenneth Higgs; and sister, Myrtice Suber.

Mrs. Ross is survived by her daughters, Regina Ross Lindsey and husband Jerry of Sylvester, Wilda Ross Weeks and husband Grady of Moultrie, Judy Ross Dekle of Norman Park, and Jenni Lynne Stephens and husband Tim of Norman Park; 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Baker Funeral Home.
