Dorothy Wight (Dolly) Stringer was born August 30,1965 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Georgia. She passed away November 5, 2021.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, Ann Faircloth Wight and James Slater Wight, Jr, and her brother, James Slater Wight III. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Albert Lamar (Bud) Stringer III and children Albert IV and Slater, sisters Margaret Wight Binkley (Jeff) and Azalee Wight Vereen, as well as Bud’s loving family and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Cairo High School and received her Masters Degree from Valdosta State University. Since 2010, she was employed by Turning Point Hospital in Moultrie as Director of Women’s Programs and most recently, Inpatient Services. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed involvement in many local charities. Dolly will be remembered most as a devoted wife and loving mother who never met a stranger. Throughout her courageous battle with cancer she was an inspiration to many.
The family will receive visitors at Ashburn Hill Plantation on Sunday, November 7th at 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Moultrie on Monday, November 8th at 2:00 pm.
