Donnie Harold “Hal” Suber, 72, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Baker Funeral Home with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. J.J. McMillan, Shannon Hart, Randy Rakestraw, Randy Thompson, Sean Edgar, and Robert Jolly will serve as pallbearers.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home.
Born on May 22, 1954, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Willie Glenn Suber and Dicy Eddings Suber. Mr. Suber dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community through a distinguished career in law enforcement. He served with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years, retiring as a Captain, and proudly devoted a total of 36 years to law enforcement. His commitment to others and his community was a testament to the man he was.
Outside of his career, Mr. Suber enjoyed traveling, singing, and spending time at the casino. Above all, he was a family-oriented man who cherished his family and especially loved being a grandfather. He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and created many special memories with those he loved. A true sports fan, he also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his brothers, Michael Grady Suber and Carson Glenn Suber, his wife, Mary Neil Suber and their daughter, Judy Jones; a special mother, Guynell Rogers.
Mr. Suber is survived by his wife, Deborah Ann Rogers Suber of Moultrie; son, Donald Scott Suber of Thomasville; daughter, Velissa Grace Craven and husband, Robert Daniel of Moultrie; grandchildren, Robert Kason Davis and wife, Yamilet of Moultrie, Kylie Grace Davis of Moultrie, Cady Marie Suber of Valdosta, Hannah Moran and husband, Hunter of Florida, and Robert Chase Craven of Washington; great-grandchildren, Alorah Grace Davis, Matthew Kyrie Davis, and Jhon Kobe Davis; nephews, David Suber of Columbus, Michael Suber, and William “Billy” Suber; special brothers, Kenny Bostick and Dennis Boozer.
