Donald Hart

Donald Gene Hart, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to his family and community.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Church Cemetery. Cannon Hart, Jody Hart, Conner Hart, Cotton Hart, Drew Hart, and Sean Ladson will serve as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Baker Funeral Home.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, General and Dovieree Hart of Moultrie.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Dell Ewer-Hart; his sons, Chris Hart; Kelly Hart and wife, Summer; his brother, James Hart and wife, Nina; his cherished grandchildren, Cannon Hart, Teegan Hart, Drew Hart, and Lexi Pike; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a door gunner aboard a Huey helicopter, demonstrating courage and commitment in service to his nation.

A hardworking and respected member of the community, Donald was the owner and operator of Hart’s Electric Service for 40 years, faithfully serving the residents of Colquitt County. Through his work, he built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships and a reputation for integrity and reliability.

Above all, Donald was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud “Pops” and grandfather. He was deeply loved by many and will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Legacy Village of Moultrie and the Colquitt Regional Hospice team for the compassionate care and support they provided to Donald during his final days.

Donald’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
