Dilly Regenia Mercer Rowland, 92, of Norman Park, died Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend James Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery. Landon Norman, Luke Norman, Jason Mercer, Zack Mercer, James Cato and Jody Bozeman will all serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Born on April 18, 1933, on the family farm in the Cool Springs area of Norman Park, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Mercer and Annie Lou Vickers Mercer. Ms. Dilly Rowland was a proud graduate of Norman Park High School. After completing business school, she began her professional career with C & S Bank and later served as the Office Manager of Rowland and Mercer Garage. Following her retirement, she continued to work and serve the community as part of the team at Cracker Barrel in Tifton.
Known for her unwavering kindness and spirit of self-sacrifice, Ms. Rowland touched countless lives through her thoughtfulness and hospitality. She was a gifted cook, best known for her famous pecan pies, which she prepared with love and shared generously. Alongside her husband, she devoted countless hours to grooming and preparing the family’s show horses for competitions, a commitment that led to multiple state championships over the years.
A long-time and faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Ms. Rowland lived her life guided by her faith and dedication to her family, friends, and community. Her warm heart, steady hands, and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cherished husband of over 65 years, Jim Hendricks Rowland; and brothers, Max Mercer, Charles Mercer, and Felton Mercer.
Mrs. Rowland is survived by her children, Regenia Meister (Bill), Kippi Rowland (Joe El Masri), and Allen Rowland (Robbie Bell); grandchildren, Dexter Norman (Amber), Anna Trimble (Josh), and Josey Norman; great grandchildren, Landon Norman, Luke Norman, Jeremiah Wilkins, Rose Adcock, Mack Trimble, Pepper Trimble, Brayden Watson, Jaelyn Watson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be gathering at 115 West Weeks St. Norman Park, Georgia.
