DeLane Smith

DeLane Smith, 70, of Pavo, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with family and friends sharing their favorite memory. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Michael Forston, Cole Groves, Corey Morrison, Bruce Morton, Jerome Roberts, and Jay Jackson will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on February 18, 1956, in Talladega, Alabama, he was the son of Elvie Smith, Sr. and Gladys Leolo Andrews Smith. Mr. Smith proudly served his country in the United States Army, demonstrating the same dedication and sense of responsibility that would guide him throughout his life. After his military service, he began a long career with Riverside Uniform Rentals, where he worked as an Account Manager. He was known for his strong work ethic, professionalism, and the relationships he built with both his customers and coworkers over the years.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his brothers, Mac Arthur Smith, Elvie Smith, Jr., Eddie Eugene Smith, Thomas Smith, Aubrey Smith, William Smith, and sister, Mary Elizabeth Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Brady Smith; sons, Michael Fortson and wife, Marissa of Ashburn, Cole Groves and wife, Kaylie of Lake Park, GA Gregory D. Smith of Worth County, Andrew Curry and wife Amber of Mobile, AL; daughters, Samantha Morrison and husband, Corey of Nicholls, Chelsea Morton and husband, Bruce of Pavo, Poppy Tipton of Colorado, Sophia Shaw and husband, Brad; 22 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Jerome Roberts and wife, Mary of Boston; sisters, Gladys Louise Cooper and husband, James of Meigs and Wynette Roberts and Theron Willis of Boston, GA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
