Dawn Marie Smith Weaver Krauss, 56, of Pavo, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Born on November 13, 1969, in Galion, Ohio, she was the daughter of Vickie Ann Smiley Smith and the late Donald Hugh Smith.

Dawn had a lifelong love for barrel racing and was blessed to turn that passion into a career as a barrel race producer, spending her days doing what she truly loved. She also dedicated her time serving others as a volunteer firefighter with the Brooks County Volunteer Fire Department, always willing to lend a helping hand when her community needed her. Dawn was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, generous heart, and genuine kindness she shared with those around her.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Donald Hugh Smith, and her mother, Vickie Ann Smiley Smith.

She is survived by her son, Colton Ray Weaver and his wife, Jena; her daughter, Ashlee Nichole Krauss; her grandchildren, Kaysen Lee Weaver and Joni Rae Weaver; and her sisters, Joy Greybush and Robin Davis.
