David “Dewey” Suazo

When Dewey was born on May 4th, 2018, he became part of a big, beautiful family, and we have loved him and cherished him every day of his life. He died very peacefully at home on August 26, 2025, surrounded by all of his family. If you ever got the privilege to meet Dewey, you know there was something very special about him and that everyone who knew him truly loved him. He was handsome, smart, kind, funny, charming, and so very loving. He loved his family, his school, his church, and all of his friends at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He always wanted to look nice and smell good. He had a whole collection of ties for church, Old Spice body wash, and cologne. He loved Pokémon and McDonalds. He said the most beautiful prayers every night and I know he is having the best time in Heaven, finally healed of cancer. I look forward to the day I will see Dewey again! “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!”

Survivors include Dewey’s Mama, Megan Stalvey; two sisters, Evelyn and Katie; Pap Pap and Grandma, Dewey and Sheryl Stalvey; Aunts, Kristen Gilbert, Erin Waldee, and Lauren Stalvey; Uncle, Clay Gilbert; cousins, Marilyn and Michael Waldee & Bryan, Hannah and Brandon Gilbert; maternal great-grandparents, Bryan and Joan Harris; a large extended family and many wonderful friends.

Dewey’s family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Baker Funeral Home in Moultrie, Georgia. There will be a time of visitation at 9:30 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the chapel. Dewey’s “Pap Pap,” Reverend Dewey T. Stalvey, Jr., will officiate. The family will accept flowers, but if you would like to donate in memory of Dewey, please consider the following organizations: Cure Childhood Cancer, Hands of Hope Hospice, or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
