Darrel Dean Ross, 82, of Norman Park, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Charles Harrod, Jack Sangsten, Jeff Miller, Tommy Hall, Wilton Dunn, and Donald Weeks will serve as pallbearers. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Norman Park, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Born on March 4, 1940 in Colquitt County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Cecil Devon Ross and Nancy Ellis Ross. Darrel worked at Southern Diecasting and Harvey Hubble where he retired after 42 years. He was a lead man. Darrel loved hunting deer and most of all he loved his wife and family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Ross and Billy Gene Ross; sister, Merdis Ross.
Mr. Ross is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Kay Weeks Ross of Norman Park; sons, Eddie Ross and wife Nan and Devaughn Ross and wife Connie of Hiawassee; brother, Hilton “speck” Ross of South Haven, Miss.; grandchildren, Amber Jones and husband Mason, Nanda Ross, Miranda Ross, Chad Ruis, Nikkie Godwin, Matt Ruis and wife Jessica, Josh Ruis, and wife Shelby; great-grandchildren, Callie, Ella, Emma, Juda, Caleb, David, Maggie, Jed, Sage, Sammy, Weston, Isaiah, and Nathanial; special friends, Carlinda, Robin Suber, Sherri Hopper, and Nancy Smith.
