Darlene L. King

Darlene Boerner King, 97, of Moultrie, Ga., passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Pruitt Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held in Winner, South Dakota, where she will be buried next to her husband.

Born June 27, 1928, in Winner, South Dakota, she was the daughter of Amelia and Carlyle Boerner. She was a homemaker in her early years and in her later years she worked for the State of Nebraska’s court system. Darlene lived in a number of places and was always an active member of the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliot Lyle King and daughters, Janet Quick and Linda King

She is survived by her daughter Karen Kettunen and husband, Bill of Destin, Florida and son Roger King and wife, Anne of Moultrie, Georgia. She is also survived by grandchildren Chris Sautter and wife Arlette, Will Kettunen and wife LeeAnn, Jim Kettunen and wife Danielle, Salley Edwards and husband Briley, Amanda Rutherford and husband Patrick and eleven great-grandchildren.
