Born on February 4, 2008, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of Scott Millard Bivins and Kaylee Nichole “Nikki” Spires. Chevy was a sophomore student at Colquitt County High School. Chevy was truly the life of the party. Wherever he went, laughter followed, stories grew louder, and people felt welcomed. He had a way of bringing joy and energy to every gathering, making strangers feel like lifelong friends. His smile was unforgettable — bright enough to “blind you,” as many would say — and it carried warmth, kindness, and a little bit of mischief everywhere he went.

A master bass fisherman, Chevy felt most at home near the water, rod in hand and surrounded by friends and family. Fishing was more than a hobby to him; it was part of who he was. Whether he was reeling in the biggest catch of the day or simply enjoying the peace of the outdoors, Chevy made every moment memorable.

His name fit him perfectly. He was called “Chevy” because, like the truck, he would never break down or leave you stranded on the side of the road. That same dependable spirit defined the way he lived his life. He showed up for people. He stood by those he loved. Through good times and hard times, Chevy was someone you could always count on. Chevy was a strong and handsome boy who was most definitely his mama’s baby boy and his daddy’s little twin. He spent his last days welding beside his mama at Custom Outdoors and all day Mother’s Day with her.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, “Junior” Spires; great- grandparents, Jeri Brown, Carey and Ethel Spires, Jack Bivins, Linda Bivins, and Tommy and Kaye Thomas; and uncles, Chris Simmons and Paul Striney; and honorary angel above, Cody Cheyenne Welch.

Chevy is survived by his parents, Kaylee Nichole “Nikki” Spires and Brandon Bruce of Norman Park, and Scott Millard Bivins and Stacie Woods of Pelham; grandparents, Scott and Kay Bivins and Glenn and Angie Smith; great-grandparents, Mickey and Donna Simmons; brother and sisters, Ethan Bivins, Onica Bivins, Nathan Lane Harrell, Charlee Darlene Bivins, Morgan Knight, and Lane Bruce; and aunts and uncles, Jessica Smith, Cody and Christa Ann Green, Jamie and Melissa Spires, Ginger Brown, Laurel and Lance Simmons, John and Karen Glover, Chuck and Heidi Thomas, Anna and Joe Vaughn, Jr., Eli Demott, and Big Joe and Mary Vaughn; special lil sweetheart, Kennedy “K-Bug”; special lil sidekick, Heath “Chuck” Green and many other extended family members.

Baker Funeral Home will accept donations on behalf of the family in his memory.
