Born November 26, 1939 in Worth County, Georgia to the late Jessie Marvin Hartsfield and Sally Mozell Willis Hartsfield. Buddy was a Godly man who loved his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved to attend church every chance he could as long as his health allowed. He was married for 61 years to his high school sweetheart, Brenda Jane Weaver and was a devoted father to his three children. His faith in Jesus Christ was evident to all who knew him and he walked by that faith daily whether on a construction site or in the Sunday School classroom. He loved to serve his church and for many years enjoyed his time as a deacon, song leader, and Sunday School teacher. He was known in the community for his years building countless homes in the area, and the grounds keeping supervisor at GA Baptist Conference Center, but the thing he most loved to be known by was husband, Daddy, and Papa. He also wanted to remind his grandchildren “to keep their noses clean.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tim Hartsfield; brother, Marvin Hartsfield; and sister, Judy Thompson.
Mr. Hartsfield is survived by his wife Brenda Weaver Hartsfield of Norman Park; son, Chuck Hartsfield of Scotts Hill, Tennessee; daughter, Sandy Tompkins and husband James of Norman Park; daughter-in-law, Robin Hartsfield of Norman Park; grandchildren, Carey Willis and husband BJ, Mandi Banks, Misty Free and husband Chris, Charley White and husband Eric, Casey English and husband Peyton, Levi Tompkins and Luke Tompkins; great grandchildren, Tait Milner, Madison Banks, Austin Willis, Gracey Willis, Eden English, Bowyn English, Bentley White, and Hartley Ann White; and sister, Joann Free.
