Charles Mack Deen, Ret. Sr, Chief DKCS, 82, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Scott Burdette, Michael Burdette, James Horne, Jared Horne, Brandon Johnson, and Kacey Deen will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Born on August 24, 1939, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Lewis Harrison Deen and Lucy Taylor Deen. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service as a Sr. Chief DKCS. He also worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block, had his pilot instructor license where he gave private lessons and also retired from Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia. He attended Worldwide Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hubert Deen; and sister, Virginia Burdette.
Mr. Deen is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara Ann Horne Deen of Moultrie; sons, DeWayne Mack Deen and wife Valarie of Suffolk, Virginia, and Craig Alan Deen and wife Sheren of Franklin, Virginia; brother, Larry Deen and wife Karen of Macon; grandchildren, Laura Deen Brown and husband Matthew of Eure, North Carolina, Melissa Stockman and partner Shannon of Chesapeake, Virginia, Justin Stockman and wife Samantha of Ivor, Virginia, Jennifer Deen of Virginia, Rebecca Deen of Washington State, Kaitlyn Guyer, and David Holderby; and great grandchildren, Rachel, Hunter, Ethan, Elayna, Isaac, Greyson, and Autumn.
