Cecil Ray Meeks, 69, of Berlin, died Friday, June 26, 2020 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Lifespring Community Church with Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Born on March 25, 1951, in Orlando, Florida, he was the son of the late Rev. William Edward Meeks and Maudie Elizabeth Pendergraft Meeks. He was a self-employed mechanic who enjoyed working on cars or anything mechanical and an avid fisherman. He also volunteered with the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department where he served since the mid 80's. He was caring, compassionate, and just loved to help people who were in need. He was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shelia West.
Mr. Meeks leaves behind his loving wife, Nola Louise Hager Meeks of Berlin; sons, Spencer Ray Meeks and wife Amanda of Deatsville, Alabama and James McKinley Meeks and wife Crystal of Norman Park; daughter, Shannon Louise Cuyos and husband Henry of Albany, New York; grandchildren, Autumn, Ethan, Josie, Kendall, Seth, Alyssa, and Mackenzie; great granddaughter, Kinsley; brothers, Billy Meeks and wife Romajean of Florida, David Meeks and wife Joan of Medon, Tennessee, and Danny Meeks and wife Jeannie of Berlin; and sister, Linda Marszalek of Valdosta.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2020 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
