Bobby Gene Walters

Bobby Gene Walters, 77, of Moultrie, died on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date.

Born on March 3, 1949, in Americus, Georgia, he was the son of the late Inman Earl Walters and Hilda Deriso Walters. Mr. Walters lived a life marked by hard work, faith, and a deep love for the outdoors. He proudly served as a sea captain in the Merchant Marines, a career that reflected both his adventurous spirit and steadfast character. The water was always close to his heart, and he found great joy in fishing and boating whenever he had the opportunity. Beyond the water, Bobby also enjoyed hunting, especially quail hunting, spending many treasured hours outdoors with family and friends.

More than anything, Bobby loved the Lord and his church family at Friendship Alliance Church. He was a faithful servant who dedicated countless hours helping wherever needed and serving in every ministry he could. Whether lending a helping hand, encouraging others, or simply being present, Bobby’s servant’s heart left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Lawrence Walters of Moultrie, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and his beloved church family.
