Bernard Leon Patterson

Bernard Leon Patterson, 81, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Westview Cemetery with Reverend Julian Griner officiating. Mr. Patterson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

He was born on November 14, 1943, in Moultrie to the late James H Patterson and Marylee Griffin Patterson. He spent much of his life working as a truck driver and was also skilled in car painting and bodywork. Bernard had a lifelong love for the outdoors — he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and was an avid race fan. His hardworking spirit and easygoing nature will be remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Dollar Patterson.

Survivors include his son, Bernard Lynn Patterson and wife Gennie of Norman Park; daughters, Renee Patterson Dean and husband Randall of Apopka, FL., Lisa Patterson Rowe of Moultrie, and Teresa Patterson Peterman and husband Donald of Moultrie; grandchildren, Shane Dean, Monica Dean, Adam Giles and wife Candace, Aaron Rowe, Alex Rowe, Jessica Spradley, Jennie Holloway and husband Marcus, Tayshawn Peterman, Hope, Lekisha, Katie, Amiyah, Seth, Kynnleigh, Skyla, Raelynn, and Kashton; great grandchildren, Aria Dean, Tallyan Dean, Ty Giles, Mattie Taylor, Kinsley Rowe, Lily Giles, Isaac Holloway, Samuel Holloway, Cyrus Holloway, and Judah Holloway; sisters, Mary Alice Carver of Cairo and Faye Bryant of Moultrie, special friend, Voncile Kearce of Moultrie.
