Bennie Bates

Bennie Bates, 82, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Born on September 7, 1939, in Moultrie, to the late Arthur Shelton “Buck” Bates and Bertha Cooper Bates. He was the owner of a small engine repair shop and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James “Boots” Bates, Ruis Bates, Raymond Bates, and Larry Bates; sister, Blanche Burgner.
Mr. Bates is survived by his son, Michael Bates and wife Brittany of Moultrie; sisters, Faye Goss of Moultrie, and Janice Key of Moultrie; grandchildren, Cameron Bates, Casey Bates, Tucker Bates, and Trenton Langdale; one special nephew, Kane Key; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Randy Bates, Chris Beard, Jason Beard, Jimmy Martin, Scott Keith, and Jim Turner will serve as pallbearers.
