Benita Fran Powell Tillman, 61, of Moultrie, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at China Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at China Grove Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Sikes, Casey Sikes, Caleb English, Donnie Moon, Wilson Powell, David Walden, Robby Powell, and Justin Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Key, Dominique Delsalvo, Robby Stanfill, Bennie Owens, and Roger Tillman.
Born on October 10, 1959, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Barbara Freeman Powell and Delton Lee Powell, Jr. of Scooterville. She was a teacher at Charlie A. Gray Middle School and a member of China Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Fran was a homemaker who loved the Lord, and her family with all her heart. She made a loving home for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Fran was an amazing seamstress. She made the most beautiful quilts and blankets. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Fran was a school teacher for many years, during this time she cared for many children who she loved very dearly. She was blessed with an amazing work family. She was known as Grandma to 4 beautiful children her presence will be missed, but her spirit will live on.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother Kerry Renee Powell.
Mrs. Tillman is survived by her father; her husband of 41 years Eric Tillman of Moultrie: sons, Stacey Tillman and wife Cara and children Brently and Wyatt of Adel, Brandon Tillman and wife Jackie and children Haley and Brandon Lee, Jr. of Pomona Park, FL; brothers, Robert Dell Powell and wife Allison of Norman Park, Ricky Powell and wife Rose of Scooterville; sister, Lynn Sikes and husband Ricky of Ty Ty; father and mother-in-Law, Lamar and Ann Tillman of Moultrie; brother-in-law, Alan Tillman and wife Nan of Moultrie and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at the funeral home.
