Beatrice “Bea” J. Hendry Beall, 96, of Quitman, formerly of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 2:30 PM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:30 pm. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville.
Bea was born on November 19, 1929, in Essex County, New Jersey, to the late Alexander Hendry and Marin Hendry. On March 13, 1948, she married a police officer, and together they were blessed with two children. Though their marriage later ended in divorce, love found her again in 1988 when she met her soulmate, David. They were married in Richmond, Virginia, and later that year moved to Moultrie to be closer to his children.
Bea faithfully attended Lakeside Assembly of God, where she cherished hearing the Word preached, singing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ, and participating in Sunday School. She especially loved her Tuesday morning prayer group, which became like family to her.
She gave her heart to the Lord in her forties and often said, “I have lived every day for Him since.” She began each morning reading her Bible and praying, setting the tone for a life grounded in faith and devotion.
An active and energetic woman, Bea loved ice skating and walking, and she even learned to fly. She was never one to sit still for long. Throughout her working years, she served as a switchboard operator, later earned her certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and eventually worked as a display associate at the local Walmart in Moultrie. She truly loved working there because it allowed her to share Jesus with everyone she talked to. In that role, she met countless people and formed many lasting friendships with customers who grew to admire her warm spirit.
Bea had a big heart and was a devoted and loving wife. During the later years of their 26-year marriage, as David’s health declined, she tenderly cared for him. She lovingly and faithfully cared for him, making certain he was well nourished, their home remained warm and welcoming, and that he was surrounded by comfort, dignity, and attentive care each day.
In addition to her many interests, Bea also dearly loved her cats, who brought her comfort and companionship over the years.
Bea will be remembered for her cheerful personality, her heart full of joy, and her beautiful smile that brightened the lives of all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George David Beall, and her brother, Frank Hendry.
Bea is survived by her children, Joseph Betta and Nancy Betta Davis, both of New Jersey; grandchild, Kent A. Davis; stepchildren, Greg Beall and wife Teresa of Coatesville, PA, and Densie Beall Hicks of Moultrie; step-grandchildren, Brittany Hicks of Ormond, FL, and Courtney Hicks of Moultrie; step-great-grandchildren, Joleigh Hicks, Aaron Vickory, Violet Inlow, Jermiah Inlow, and Ava Jane Wallace; and sister, Ruth “Peg” Harmon of Bridgewater, NJ.
