Angelita Cassio

Angelita Cassio, 50, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, formerly of Moultrie, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Father Paul O’Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Born on January 11, 1976, in Piedras Negras, Mexico, she was the daughter of Reginaldo Cassio. Angelita was a loving and devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. Above all else, she cherished her family, finding her greatest joy in the love and happiness of those closest to her.

She was a devoted Catholic whose faith was an important part of her life, providing her with strength, comfort, and guidance throughout the years.

She is survived by her husband, Gilberto Mendez of Grand Rapids, MI; children, Yoseline Cassio, Bryan Mendez, Gilberto Mendez, Jr., Angel Adrian Mendez, Selena Torres, and Adriana Alvarez; and her grandchildren, Adriel Torres, Jael Torres, Yareli Torres, and Camilia Alvarez.
