Andrea De Leon Avalos

Andrea De Leon Avalos, 94, of Omega, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Her grandchildren will give the eulogy. Interment will follow at Omega City Cemetery, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
Born on November 30, 1928, in Realitos, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Nasario De Leon and Genoveva Rodriguez De Leon. She married the love of her life, Bernardo “Slim” Avalos, Sr., on March 29, 1947. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Bernardo “Slim” Avalos, Sr.; son, Bernardo Avalos, Jr.; daughter, Annabelle Avalos; brothers, Jose Reynaldo De Leon, Nasario De Leon, Jr., Robert De Leon, and Jose Raul De Leon; and sisters, Genoveva De Leon Paiz and Evangelina De Leon Rodriguez; son in law, Santos Gonzales, Sr.; and daughter in law, Angie Avalos.
Mrs. Avalos is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Gonzalo Gonzalez of Tifton, Hilda Gonzales of Moultrie, Diana and Andrew Mendieta of Tifton and Andrea and Ricky Dean, also of Tifton; sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Clara Avalos and David and Francis Avalos, all of Tifton; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Avalos of Tifton; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; brother, Mario De Leon of Seagraves, Texas; and sister, Maria Jesusa De Leon Santos of Hebbronville, TX; several nieces and nephews and special friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
