Douglas Wesley "D.W." Wright

Douglas Wesley “D.W.” Wright, 87, of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Monday, January 31, 2022, at China Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Conger officiating. Mr. Wright will be laid to rest at China Grove Church Cemetery. Douglas Wright, David Wright, Dustin Wright, Donavon Wright, Devin Wright, and Aaron Wright will serve as pallbearers.
Born on March 14, 1934, in Norman Park, Georgia, he was the son of the late Erastus Green Wright and Mary Frances Jones Wright. He was self-employed and a member of China Grove Baptist Church. As an avid coon hunter, he was given an honorary lifetime membership in the Black and Tan Coon Hound Association. His love of fishing led him to acquire his US Merchant Marine Officer’s License from the Coast Guard. Mr. Wright was also a Mason at the China Grove Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Strawder Wright; infant daughter, Doris Jean Wright; and his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Wright is survived by his children, Douglas Wayne Wright, Dustin Wright, David Wesley Wright and wife Melinda and Mary Dianne Wright, all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Danielle Leigh Price Carver and husband Adam Christianson, Donavon Wesley Wright and wife Magen Elizabeth, Kristy LeAnn Wright, Devin Wayne Wright and wife Cheltsie Lynne, Magen Denise Wright Ebbers and husband Jordan, Nola Grace Wright, Aaron Preston Wright; great grandchildren, Kylie Grace, Ava Brooke, Kaylie Faith, Hope Jade, Everli Mae, Aiden Blake, Kolton Wesley, Auri Elizabeth, Xander Williams, Anduin Ether, Skyler Wayne, Amarie Estel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, on the day of the service.
